Shipping-service is involved in the export of cars and trucks from the UK to any destination worldwide. We arrange shipping of cars & Trucks to Kenya, South Africa, Cyprus,Tanzania,Australia and many more. We offer RORO shipping services and can also supply containers to suit special requirements.
RORO SHIPPING (ROLL ON ROLL OFF)
This method of shipping involves the export of cars,trucks,boats and buses under the decks of Large ships. The vehicles are driven into the vessels and strapped down so as to avoid any movements during transit.
The loading and unloading of vehicles into the ships require special docks. This therefore means that not all countries can unload/load vehicles this way. The following is a list of countries that currently offer the RORO method of shipping :
Angola, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Botswana, Cyprus, Dominica, East Timor, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Grenada, Ghana Guyana, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jamaica, Japan, Jersey, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, New Zealand, Norfolk Island (Australia), Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Tanzania, Thailand, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Kingdom, Virgin Islands (US & UK), Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe.
RORO ships sail regularly from Tilbury, Sheerness,Southampton and Felixstowe ports. The client will be expected to deliver the car themselves to the port of export. If you are unable to deliver yourself,we can offer collection / delivery services at a cost. Please enquire at the time of booking.
CONTAINER SHIPPING METHOD
Cargo such as cars and household goods can also be shipped inside specially built steel containers. These container are built to withstand the elements during transit. They therefore protect you cargo against salty water,winds,scratches, dents and so on.
The Most common containers are 20 foot container and 40 foot containers. The 20 ft container can carry one vehicle as wells as a few boxes of personal effects. The 40 foot container on the other hand can carry two or three cars, or the contents of a 2 bedroom house.
We can usually deliver the container to your home address,office or even warehouse so that you can load the goods yourself. You will have three hours in order to do the loading then we will transport it back to the port for export. If you go ave the allocated 3 hour loading time, an extra hourly charge may apply.
CONTAINER VS RORO
*Containers are more secure than RORO because your vehicle is hidden from all the elements
*RORO ships are quicker and unloading time are faster than for containers. You will get you your car quicker on the other end.
*RORO method is cheaper as there is no need for expensive loading equipment at the docks.
* Containers are suitable if you want to ship personal goods securely together with the vehicle |
